Abstract

This study aims to explore the manifestations of homeland in the poetry of Tahir Zamakhshari by analyzing a selection of poetic models. The research focuses on examining how Zamakhshari expresses his love for and appreciation of the homeland through the use of rhetorical devices and artistic imagery employed in his poetic experience. It seeks to uncover the aesthetic structure of these manifestations, analyze their semantic content, and trace the musical impact in shaping national expression within the poetic text. The study begins by providing a conceptual framework for the term “homeland” in Arabic poetry, highlighting the cultural and creative background of Tahir Zamakhshari to understand the contexts that shaped his nationalist poetic discourse. The body of the research is divided into two main sections: the first section examines the national imagery in Zamakhshari’s poetry by analyzing selected national-themed poems, while the second section delves into the semantic implications of lexical choices and musical effects, with a particular focus on the role of simile in constructing poetic imagery and conveying nationalist sentiment. The study concludes with a summary of the key findings, emphasizing that homeland serves as a central axis in Zamakhshari’s poetry, illustrating how he effectively merges emotion and symbolism to create poetic imagery that transcends traditional structures, evolving into a renewed poetic space. Additionally, the study reveals the interplay between musical influence and emotional expression in articulating nationalist sentiment in Zamakhshari’s poetic texts.
