A proposed vision for developing sport tourism in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract
The study aimed to develop a proposed vision for developing sports tourism in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, using a descriptive survey approach. The researcher used a questionnaire to achieve the study's objectives. The study population comprised residents of the Eastern Province and visitors from within and outside the Kingdom. The sample consisted of (402) individuals. They were selected randomly, and the results of the study showed that the sample members agreed on the actual reality of sports tourism in the Eastern Province and the demographic factors represented by the factors (economic, technological, social, cultural and geographical) to a high degree, followed by the reality of the sports facilities and capabilities available to a medium degree. and through the results of the study, a proposed vision was developed to develop sports tourism in the Eastern Province. The study recommended in relation to positive information, increasing personal resources to ensure sports information in the region, human resources management, and exploiting the diverse economic, technological and social factors available in the region to support sports tourism, building partnerships with local and international stakeholders, in addition to forming joint working groups to cooperate in organizing sporting events and developing sports-related tourism programs.
