Main Article Content
Abstract
The research aimed to identify the extent of secondary school principals’ attitudes in the General Administration of Education in Jazan towards adapting leadership practices to the characteristics of Generation Alpha, as well as to examine the effect of variables such as gender, academic qualification, and years of experience on these attitudes. The descriptive survey method was employed, and the research instrument consisted of an attitude scale developed to measure secondary school principals’ orientations in adapting leadership practices to the characteristics of Generation Alpha. The scale included 35 items distributed across seven dimensions and was administered to a randomly selected sample of 164 principals (male and female) from secondary schools affiliated with the General Administration of Education in Jazan. The findings revealed that the overall degree of principals’ attitudes towards adapting leadership practices to the characteristics of Generation Alpha was very high, with a mean score of (165.53). Similarly, the mean scores across the seven dimensions of the scale were all very high, reaching respectively (23.6; 23.75; 23.5; 24.05; 23.48; 23.68; 23.44). Moreover, no statistically significant differences at the (0.05) level were found that could be attributed to the variables of gender, academic qualification, or years of experience in relation to principals’ attitudes towards adapting leadership practices to the educational characteristics of Generation Alpha. In light of these findings, a set of recommendations and suggestions were proposed.
